The hobby of collecting, modelling and running model trams and streetcars is, sadly, rarely something many will come across in the public domain. Yet, when we do so, the skills are up there among the best, and the enthusiasm among those interested borders on the passionate!

This collection has been started with the help of Tony Tieuli, who lives in Boston, USA. Tony's interests have expanded from local Boston cars to a wonderful mixed USA/UK layout. Tony is a member of the Bay State Model Railroad Museum in Roslindale, Massachusetts, where there is an active interest in streetcar running.

Hopefully others with an interest in model trams and streetcars will add to the collection over time.

Discussion on model trams of all countries, and in all scales, may enjoyed by joining the The Model Tram Yahoo! Group.
Tony Tieuli’s Brisbane, Australia FM (four motor) car #488. It is made from a urethane 1/43.5 scale kit by Greg King (Transit Classics) in Melbourne, Australia. Greg supplies the kit, Black Beetle trucks with proper wheel size, and all the necessary decals for numbering the car and city council lettering. Authentic adverts are also available separately.

Tony Teuili’s Car 4055 is a 1912 Boston articulated car built from two obsolete "box" cars with a new centre section. Colloquially known as "two rooms and a bath", they reduced platform costs by increasing capacity with the same crew. Strangely enough, the new Citadis and Combino LRVs (Light Rail Vehicles) use the same concept today. I understand the riding qualities mirror those of the 1912 car! Tony Tieuli’s Boston type 5 cars 5800 and 5654 were made from kits available in the 1960's. They represent a car type that numbered 471 in Boston, USA, and which ran until 1959. This photo was taken at the Roslindale Club in front of a waiting shed made by Charlie Pitts, a fellow club member. It is a faithful representation of the original at the Arborway in Jamaica Plain (a section of the City of Boston).

This Corgi car was stripped and repainted by Tony Tieuli in Connecticut Company colours in June 2009. This livery was supposed to be the next released by Corgi before the company was taken over by Hornby. Corgi had released a Baltimore, Philadelphia, Fort Collins (Colorado), Steinway Lines (NYC), and Chicago Surface Lines versions before the series foundered.

On the way to completion - Tony had, at this stage, to add a few more details, but it is essentially ready for painting
